About Punigo

Punigo is a Go game for people who are new to Go. With stones that have faces and small boards from 5×5 to 9×9, it lets you learn the essentials of Go, such as how stones connect, get captured and stay alive, while you play. The rules are based on “Jungo”, where the winner is decided by the number of stones on the board.

On this site (the browser version) you can play the AI or a friend, replay game records, and study positions on the demo board, all for free. The “How to Play” pages introduce the rules, tips and practice problems. A smartphone app is also on its way.

This site is the new version of Punigo, which used to be published at puyogo.app. Links to the old address are forwarded here automatically.
