Privacy Policy

Punigo · Last updated: September 19, 2026

punigo.app (the "Operator") sets out this Privacy Policy regarding the handling of user information in the app "Punigo" (the "App") as follows. Sections 1–8 describe the installed app; Section 9 describes the browser version at punigo.app.

1. Information We Collect and Store

The App stores your learning progress (cleared stages, time attack records, the nickname shown in the App, settings, etc.) and your game records on your device. If you link an account, this data is also stored in the cloud (Google Firebase). Your nickname, age group, and unfinished games are kept only on your device (see Section 2 below). In addition, to improve App quality, we collect the following information: - Usage data (operational events such as screens viewed, features used, and purchase results; an identifier for the app installation; the identifier for vendor (IDFV); and the approximate region estimated from the IP address) - Crash information (device model, OS version, and error details when a crash occurs) We never ask you to enter your name, address, phone number, or similar personal details.

2. Account Linking (Optional)

Linking an Apple or Google account saves your learning progress and game records to the cloud (Google Firebase) so you can carry them over to a new device or after a device change. Linking an account is optional. When you link an account, your account identifier is recorded in Firebase's authentication system for authentication purposes. The account identifier associates your stored data with your account and controls access to it. If you link a Google account, the email address, name, and profile photo URL of the Google account are also recorded in the authentication system (the App does not display or use the name or photo). We do not add your email address to usage events. Learning progress, some settings, and game records (moves and game conditions) are stored in the cloud. Nicknames and age groups stay on the device and must be set again on a new device. Unfinished games do not transfer either. The activity chart history (daily counts of games, puzzles, and similar activities, kept separately for each device) is also stored in the cloud and combined across your devices. If you do not link an account, this data is stored only on your device and cannot be restored if the App is deleted or the device is changed or lost.

3. Purpose of Use

The information we collect is used only to continue your learning progress, retain App settings, and improve quality, fix issues, improve features, verify purchases, provide paid features, generate video speech, and prevent misuse. This app data is not used for advertising.

4. Third-Party Transfers and Service Providers

The App uses Firebase, provided by Google LLC (Google Analytics for Firebase / Firebase Crashlytics for collecting usage data and crash information; Firebase Authentication / Cloud Firestore for account linking and cloud storage of progress and game records). This data may be stored on servers outside Japan, including in the United States. We also use RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.) to manage the purchase status of the paid service. RevenueCat receives an anonymous user identifier; the purchase identifier, purchase date, and expiration date; the identifier for vendor (IDFV), device model, OS version, language setting, and App Store country; plus your account identifier while an account is linked. The App does not send RevenueCat your name, email address, or credit card number (payments are handled by the store). Speech for explanation videos is generated with Google Cloud Text-to-Speech (via Firebase Functions); only the text of the video's lines is sent, and it contains no personal information such as your name or nickname. While an account is linked, the number of lines synthesized per day is recorded per account identifier to prevent excessive use. The Operator does not provide user information to third parties for any purpose other than those described above. The App does not include any advertising SDKs.

5. Opting Out

You can stop the transmission of usage data and crash information at any time from "Settings" → "Privacy Settings" → "Send usage data" in the App. All App features remain available even if you turn this off.

6. Deletion of Data

Data stored on your device is deleted when you uninstall the App. However, sign-in information for a linked account remains in the device keychain, so the App starts with the account still linked if you reinstall it. To remove it from the device, use "Settings" → "Account Linking" → "Sign Out" before uninstalling. Your linked account and the data stored in the cloud (learning progress and game records) can be deleted at any time from "Settings" → "Account Linking" → "Delete Account" in the App. Deleted cloud data remains in our disaster-recovery records for up to 7 days and is then erased automatically.

7. Use by Children

The App is designed so that children can use it with peace of mind: it never requires entering a name, address, phone number, or similar details. Usage data includes an identifier for the app installation, but we do not add names or email addresses. The nickname shown in the App is never sent to the Operator's servers.

8. Revisions

The content of this Policy may be revised in response to changes in law or the addition of new features. We will announce any material changes within the App.

9. Browser Version (punigo.app)

The browser version uses Google Analytics (Google LLC) to understand how the site is used. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect page views and interactions; this data contains no names or email addresses, and IP addresses are anonymized. See Google’s policy: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites

The browser version displays ads through Google AdSense and Google Ad Manager. Third parties, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on visits to this and other websites. Ad delivery may transmit information such as IP addresses, browser information, and ad views or interactions. See Google’s advertising policy: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads You can manage personalized ads in Google’s ad settings: https://myadcenter.google.com/ You can also manage or delete cookies in your browser settings. The installed app’s Send Usage Data setting does not control browser advertising or Google Analytics. Anyone with a shared game-record URL can view that record.
